Graduation Day (my very own speech)
Wednesday, March 28th, 2007The beauty of our lives doesn't end at the closing of the door, but lies in our determination to look outside the window and let our vision go beyond every mountain that looms the horizon before our eyes.
To all my listeners now— our school chaplain, Rev. Father Jerry Tacdoro, DCK, the NDKC President, Bro. Teodulo A. Fernandez, FMS, our very own principal, Bro. Noel T. Fernandez, FMS, the faculty and staff, dear parents, friends, and especially my fellow graduates, a wonderful day to start a new beginning.
Our high school days are over, and today marks the closing of our happy, light, and free-spirited moments in the portals of this institution. but let us not be saddened by this fact, because today is the day of celebration.Celebration, for we survived the difficulties and challenges in school. We survived the hot-cold temper of our teachers. We survived the 50:50 grades, or the "F", or the conduct ratings in our report card. We survived the nerve wrecking requirements like the investigatory project, term paper, immersion, science model and defense, yet gave us unbreakable bonding and precious moments with our classmates and friends. We survives the "tirerereret" of alarm clock every early morning. And we even survived the unending sermon and "yawyaw" of our Mom inexhaustibly reminding us how important school is.
Yes, at last! For finally, after 4 years in high school, we will be facing another phase of life— the college life. The university, professors, courses, organizations, schedule, and subjects are welcoming us with open arms. Plus, there will tons of new people, new classmates, new friends!
But before that wondrous lackadaisical, let us be reminded that life ahead will never be very easy for all of us. This should not stop us in pursuing our dreams.
Tomorrow, we will all start our new journey. Armed with knowledge that our parents and teachers had stuffed our beings and the various experiences and life challenges that molded us in 4 years in High school. The path towards our success depends upon us.
To our parents, thank you for all the love and support. As we start our new journey, may you will be there guiding us. To our teachers, thank you for the knowledge that you untiringly shared to us. May you continue to pass on the treasure to our younger generation.
To all of us, let's face the new chapter of our lives with a strong determination to survive. God is just a prayer away to lift our spirits every time we fall. So, let's kick up for the grand new start!!! Thank you
